Three Rivers FCU On-Line Privacy Policy

I. On-Line Privacy Statement
Three Rivers Federal Credit Union realizes the importance of protecting the privacy of our members' personal information. It is our goal to protect member information in every method of contact with members, whether it is in a branch, at one of our Automatic Teller Machines (ATM), on the telephone or on the Internet.

A. Information collected automatically through our website
Three Rivers Federal Credit Union collects information only in instances where we feel it will be of assistance in providing members with quality service. Three Rivers FCU routinely collects information used to create summary statistics in determining ways to improve on-line services. Information collected is vital to identifying system performance and/or problematic areas. No information that identifies a member personally is automatically collected.

B. Information collected through e-mails and web forms
When personally identifying information is submitted, such as e-mail correspondence containing a question or comment, we use the supplied information to fulfill or respond to request(s) as well as provide members with superior quality service. This information is also stored for reference when making improvements and/or adjustments to our website and on-line services. It should be noted that e-mail is a form of communication that is not entirely within a secure environment. Please visit Three Rivers FCU branches in person to relay any information that may contain sensitive personal information. Submissable applications do take place in a secure environment and are delivered via PGP encrypted e-mail delivery and are generally more secure than typical e-mail delivery.

C. Use of Information
Three Rivers Federal Credit Union will not provide, sell or share your personal information to any nonaffiliated third party for independent use. We share member information only in one of the following circumstances: you authorize it; you have requested a transaction requiring it; we are reporting your information to a credit reporting agency; or we are required or permitted by law to disclose such information.
Information is shared with affiliated organizations when involving products and/or services of value to members, which would otherwise not be available through the Credit Union. Additionally, to preserve vital member information, employees of Three Rivers Federal Credit Union sign confidentiality agreements at the time of hire to maintain the secrecy of proprietary information.

  • Two-part user authentication to ensure even greater security.
  • User Options allow users to change passwords at desired intervals.
  • Firewalls and Redundant Screening/Filtering Routers are gateways that verify the source, destination, and protocol of each data packet before it is sent.
  • Compliance with an SAS70 Audit for both On-Line Account Access and On-Line Bill Payer services.
  • Require the use of 128-bit encryption enabled web browsers by users for enhanced security and information protection.

III. TRFCU Statement Regarding E-mail Spam
Three Rivers Federal Credit Union respects member rights to privacy and limiting of undesired e-mail transmissions. E-mail addresses for electronic publications and direct mail are managed by on-line list manager, MailerMailer.com, who ensures compliance with federal spam laws. In addition, we continually monitor our own activities to ensure compliance. Additionally, if you wish to discontinue receipt of on-line publications to your e-mail address(es), there is a working unsubscribe option in the footer of every publication for you to do so.

In addition, Three Rivers FCU utilizes the MailBox feature of On-Line Account Access to provide pertinent information and announcements. Users should also feel free to use this feature to communicate any questions, comments or concerns directly to Three Rivers FCU. These messages are delivered under a secure setting, so you can be confident in doing so. Please note that this is a proprietary product of Three Rivers FCU purchased through a third party software developer, and not subject to spam legislation.

III. Privacy of Children Age 13 Years and Under:
Three Rivers Federal Credit Union operates a site that is classified as a general interest site, where members of all ages are invited to visit and submit questions, comments, requests etc. Personally identifying information is collected primarily to respond to aforementioned requests. Collected information of children ages 13 years and younger is used as described below. In no circumstances is personally identifying collected information shared with non-affiliated third party entities.
Information provided by children age 13 and under, whether they are members of the Credit Union or not, is used once to respond to their specific request, be it question, comment, suggestion or service request (such as applications submitted on-line). Afterwards, collected information that is personally identifying is no longer maintained anywhere in the Credit Union's records, with the exception of a parent/guardian authorized service request. Printed copies are shredded, and electronic copies are deleted.

If the collected information is used to subscribe to a newsletter, service request, or similar activity where service or repeated communication between the child and the Credit Union is necessary, parental/guardian consent will be sought. If such consent is not attainable prior to service activation or delivery of second communication, the service and/or all proceeding communications will be discontinued and personally identifying collected information is destroyed. Again, printed copies are shredded, and electronic copies are deleted. Personally identifying information that is collected is limited to the minor's name, parental or guardian e-mail address and type of the request. Additionally, no information beyond what is necessary to fulfill the request is collected.

If a parent/guardian at any time wishes to review the personally identifying collected information about their child, they may do so after identity verification is provided. Further, at any time, a parent/guardian of a child age 13 or under may choose to have such information deleted from Credit Union records. To do so, please request such assistance by e-mailing privacy@trfcu.org.
