Applications
Eligibility
The scholarship may be applied for by those who are members
of Three Rivers Federal Credit Union in good standing.
To become a member you need to fit one of the following
criteria:

You are related by marriage to someone who is currently
a member or is eligible for membership.

You
live, work, worship or volunteer in Adams, Allen,
DeKalb, Huntington, Noble, Wells or Whitley County
(Indiana).

You
are a member of the Ultimate Travel Club.
You must be a full-time student who is accepted at and/or
enrolled in a two- or four-year program at an accredited
college or university or at a trade or vocational school
within the states of Indiana or Ohio.
You
must indicate interest (through your major or minor) in
specific areas of study that would relate to a position
within the Credit Union such as: finance, accounting,
computer technology, management, human resources, office
administration or marketing.
Final
decisions will be made by the Three Rivers Federal Credit
Union Scholarship Committee.
Criteria
The Scholarship Committee will judge all eligible applicants
on the basis of financial need, scholastic ability, community
service, and extra curricular activities. (Financial
need will be determined by reviewing a financial statement
completed by the applicant and by parental bodies who
are supporting the applicant. Include copies of previous
year tax returns showing income.)
The
Scholarship Selection Committee
The members of the Scholarship Selection Committee will
be appointed by the Three Rivers Federal Credit Union
Board of Directors each year.
Required
Forms
The Scholarship Committee will meet in June to review
the confidential file of each eligible candidate. To
be considered, each applicant’s file must contain
these completed forms:

Three Rivers Federal Credit Union Scholarship Application
Form completed by the applicant.

A financial statement completed by the applicant and
all financially responsible parties, i.e. parent(s)/guardian(s),
spouse or self.

Copies
of the previous year tax returns showing income.

A
copy of the applicant’s high school or college transcript
for the most recent school year.

A letter of recommendation prepared by a school official
who is close to the applicant through classwork or extracurricular
activities, or by an employer/supervisor of the applicant.
The
applicant is responsible for making sure all necessary
forms are attached and turned in together by the deadline.
Applications will not be accepted after the June
15th deadline.
Announcement
Scholarship recipients will be notified by written letter
in August and will be announced to the rest of the Credit
Union membership in a future publication.
Payment
A check will be made payable to the recipient and to the
school. The check will be presented to the recipients
at an August presentation.
Applications
Applications must be completed and returned to any branch
with all required forms by the June 15th deadline.
