3Rivers Gives Back
Credit unions are more than just financial institutions. We're not-for-profit, member-owned cooperatives that focus heavily on supporting the communities in which we operate. As such, we exist on the philosophy of “people helping people.” We love giving back to our members on a daily basis by consistently offering the best products and services, state-of-the-art technology, competitive rates, great rewards, and personalized experiences through every step of your journey with us.
But did you know that simply by being a member, you help us give back to the communities in which we serve? Check it out!
How does your membership help us give back to our community?
Since 2015, the 3Rivers Credit Union Foundation has awarded over $650,000 to over 100 area non-profits. Over half of our employees donate a portion of each paycheck to local organizations of their choice, and we regularly donate to non-profits in need.
Opportunities to improve health and wellness.
3Rivers regularly hosts events like blood drives and on-site mobile mammography services, and we sponsor and take part in several health-related community initiatives, fundraisers, and activities.
Every year, we offer free, public seminars to walk students and parents through college planning and filing the FAFSA. Each spring, we grant over $15,000 in scholarships to local students.
A stronger local economy.
3Rivers supports local businesses and, as a member, you do, too! When our communities’ businesses thrive, the local economy follows suit.
Environmental awareness and action.
As we break new ground on buildings, improve existing structures, and go about our daily tasks, our environment is top-of-mind. 3Rivers has several LEED-certified buildings, and we constantly seek out ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle. Nearly all of our services and communications are offered digitally.
3Rivers encourages employees to volunteer at local non-profits and community events, granting team members two paid volunteer days per year. Over the years, our team has volunteered thousands of hours of our time to various causes in our area. Additionally, employees take part in an annual company-wide volunteer day that takes place on a pre-determined holiday in which the credit union is already scheduled to be closed.
Measures to prevent identity theft and fraud.
3Rivers invests in several tools and resources (and stays up-to-date on the latest technology) that help us protect our members' account and personal information. In addition, we host two free community shred days each year. The public is invited to bring sensitive documents to our campus to be shredded on-site and recycled. We also offer ongoing education on fraud protection.
As a member of 3Rivers, you’re not just banking with us. You’re helping us to continually make a positive impact on our community – your community. Learn more about the credit union difference here and about how we gave back to our community in 2018 here.
